With the monsoon rains quickly approaching in Nepal, one of the main concerns is the spread of disease such as cholera and typhoid fever.   Good sanitation is the key ingredient that can prevent the spread of disease.   Since the earthquake Prokrit Ko Gar aka (aka Helter Shelter and ToDaLoo) has installed life saving composting toilets in 19 different communities.

55 toilets have been installed serving 5520 people giving them a dignified and safe way of doing their business.  WeHelpNepal has provided 40% of their funding so far and will continue to work with the group as they move forward.  Their staff is all volunteer keeping the costs to the bare minimum.

Relief aid, while well intentioned, often ends up in the pockets of corrupt local bureaucrats and/or multinational contracts, with very little reaching the people that actually need it. Ensure that your contributions reach those in need.
